In 1836, Poe was married to his wife named Virgina when she was only 13 years old. Poe lost his job due to excessive drinking. He worked at Southern Literary Messenger. His work was seldom rejected, and he said "I was never far from panic". He started to panic in 1837 and moved Virgina, her mother, and him self to New York. In New York, he published The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym, then moved to Philadelphia.
Poe had one good hit that brought him out of the hole. The poem was called "The Raven" and other poems and tales. He had it published and it was a great success. Not long after his success, his wife died on January 30, 1847. After her death, Poe began to deteriorate, but yet, he still wrote brilliant pieces of literature. In 1849, he returned to Richmond, his hometown, and married a widow by the name of Mrs. Sgelton. As he was coming back with Clemm (daughter), he stopped off at Baltimore and nobody knows what happened to him. He was found on October the 3 near a saloon that had been used as a polling place. He died in the hospital 4 days later.
